Sari /saree

The sari is a length of unstitched cloth that is worn draped over the body in various styles, a symbol of India.
Historically, due to the scarcity of cloth, cutting and stitching was considered a waste of material and cloth used for draping as clothing allowed adaptability and flexibility of use for men and women as well as comfort in the Indian climate. Unstitched attire has long been considered as a mark of high status and sophistication. Various textiles and styles of draping are used in different regions.
